Have you at one point or another felt so passionately about something that you just can't seem to get it out of your mind?
I'm sure a vast majority of you have experienced it. Some of us even get caught up in it twice or 3 times more often than the rest. That passion right there, be it negative or positive, is the fuel that we use to take action and accomplish whatever task or tasks we are restless, or sleepless over.
I call that sweet lil drive right there; "Hustle Fuel" and it can be a blessing or a curse sometimes. Blessing because it has the ability to make one never get bored in life and be able to take action and love what you do, and curse when I don't sketch out an idea or thought out thoroughly so that I can rest and leave for later, often times I can lose sleep or even dream about it.
That is the inspiration for this design and why it is Called "Hustlers Don't Sleep, (They Just Take Long-ass Blinks)".
Like all other designs it starts out with a very light sketch or doodle in one of my sketchbooks.
Words are written out as if they were dancing on the page. First in a single stroke of the pencil so that the spacing is worked out, then comes the ornamental accents within them and surrounding elements.
The letters are then thickened and turned into either a script, san-serif, or a serif font. They are refined and boldened using a softer leaded pencil.
At this stage, a ballpoint pen is used to finalize the drawing and prepare it to be scanned.
The final vector art created in Adobe Illustrator using the OGABEL filter (:
